S1 Single Axle Side Dump
SmithCo's S1 series are shorter single axle side-dump trailers primarily used when maneuverability is an issue or as a 2nd or rear trailer in a doubles operation. Many lengths are available with the S1-2317 and the S1-2620 being the most common. When used in a doubles operation the converter dolly can be attached with either a 5th wheel or roller turntable connection.

S2 Double Axle Side Dump
SmithCo's S2 series is one of our more popular trailers. The S2-4034 is the most produced size of tandem axle units, with a 204" wheelbase tractor you can achieve 80,000 legal gross in all states under the Federal Bridge Formula. For shorter wheelbase tractors the S2-4236 is a common size. Shorter tandems are also produced for maneuvering issues or combined with converter dollies for doubles operations. Common lengths for shorter tandems are S2-3024 and S2-3327.

S3 Three-Axle Side Dump
Three axle trailers are popular in states that allow extended gross weights for truck/trailer combinations with more than five axles. The S3-4234 and S3-4636 are the most common sizes but the range of tri-axles run from S3-3734's to S3-5036's and many sizes in-between. SmithCo works with the customer and his truck specs to determine which length trailer and axle spacing will maximize your payload potential. Drawings with your truck under different length trailers are readily available. The shorter to mid-length trailers tend to be used in everyday construction use while the longer tri-axles fit a more line-haul application.
